Our Farm

Redshill has been owned by the Tait family since the 1960s. Formerly one of the tenanted farms of the Marquis of Tweeddale and part of the Yester Estate. Situated at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills, Redshill has a picturesque rural setting with views across the Firth of Forth.

The land is mainly arable growing malting barley for whisky production with some permanent pasture where sheep graze. The land is farmed by Ian Tait and son Grant, supported by Gill and daughter in law Sue.

Recently Sue has started growing Lavender on Redshill to supply her growing business Lothian Lavender.

Ian and Grant also run a small agricultural contracting business, providing a service to other farmers in the area.
